Swallows on a wire. Television from the house across the street. Voices, doves, footsteps from inside. Vehicles. Etc.

With the windows open, sounds move into the street. People sit outside and meet at the door. They are heard inside the house at different levels.

Swallows and martins nest under the roofs and balconies. Sounds of adults, chicks, fledglings, juveniles change and increase through the summer.

People who have moved away keep a foothold in the town, it seems, returning and opening up the old houses over the holidays.

In the heat of August, those things make an exhausting / delirious mix.
