Sème ta ZAD
Ferme de Bellevue

Live transmission from maize harvest in a field near Bellevue. The cobs had been left to dry on the plants, ready for storage in a crib over winter and grinding into corn meal for polenta. The group walked through the field pulling off and stripping the cobs, and pushing over the stalks once they were picked. By the end the field was left with no stalks standing. Selected cobs were kept aside for seed. The variety of the cobs, with kernels from yellow to red, white and black, reflects the keeping and re-sowing of the seed locally over time. A badger's hole was found near the middle of the field. A cow was led onto the field for a while to browse the vegetation growing under the maize plants. Sème ta ZAD supplies food directly to groups engaged in actions and struggles.
