you're lying on your side with

your head supported on one elbow. you're in the old Hilleberg 2-3 person tent with a few books and a bag. you're in your sleeping bag. sounds from the music stage (amplified) and people's voices. and especially children, and the tent fabric whipping and sn rustling and snapping in the wind.
wind is constant off the sea. behind awide band of dune with myrtle and even[ ] primroses, a long wide beach stretches in both directions, littered wi with bodies of big jellyfish strewn along the line of tide line. behind the dunes are larch and pine woods
crossed bywith sandy track[] where butterflies and birds can be found. heavy concrete architecture partially dug in

and over-planted, seem[s] to be military
 emplacements. it's starting to
get dark. the te people are forming groups to go drinking and exploring the site. the inside of [ ] tent is yellowish and greenish, broken into small a fine grid like some older projectors. the fabric's getting very thin after bombarding years of UV light bombarding i/on the mountain[]. inspect you worry if it will rip in another high wind like last nigh the night before. for sever[]l days the wind ha[] been blowing hard from the sea, forcing bth[] big jellyfish ashore at high tide, wher[] they lie and provoke som[] people to test them with their foot or turn them over with a

stick, barely believing, like something fearsome, they are really dead. their dead bodies couple power and mo speak of waste and the alien who is not received as should be. fa[/e]intly opalescent. with a four-fold structure becoming clearer as they deliquesce.

54B (bird house) is a prototype avian-human habitation made from reclaimed timber, incorporating spaces for birds nesting with[ ] the fabric of the building. a key aim of the design is to re instigate the a close admixture of human and avian sounds aro in the immediate vicinity of the house. once common in London, this is increasingly rare, partly due to renovation of housing (closing of gaps in soffits) and
replacement of sh dense vegetat-
ion (3rd landscape) by neater more conta plantings or hard standing. b colonie[s]

of sparrows are readily detected by ear walking alo[]g t as you walk along the street. but these islands of sound are ꞈincreasinglyrare. and decl points of reference where birds and people exist in close proximity and close auditory overlap:

you're lying in your tent. it's raining hard. you're waiting for the rain to stop so you can get up. the
top of the tent is translucent
blue, which gives an imp-

sides are white. you're in
a bright capsule –
through the mesh you ca[n]
see big pools of water

forming and running on the x blue panel in the roof of the porch. the rain constantly slackens and increases very slightly. the drops produce dense rhythmic clusters and counter clusters. you were awake during the night. the sounds of the sea were feint. but there was a constant low volume roar or hum seemingly from the wind in the trees and perhap on the mountain slopes above. maybe with includ running[in]g with sounds of water* trickling down the whole hill side. it's still there when the rain slackens now to sparse pops. you lie
wondering if it will stop.

it's friday night you're lying in your tent listening to the rain. you took the two Primo mics out of the pockets in the tent where they were picking up – now they're sounding better. the rain is coming down in hard sheets. at 9.05 you're catch-ing the boat to Canna. either you'll walk to the bird cliffs or you'll stay on the boat and go back to Mallaig – depending on the weather. it's raining hard. the forecast showed ico

rain icon for every hour of the next days. but you walked from up into the hills from the harbour, following the rough road  past croft 3 towards Kinlochry and Harris. some vegetables had arrived in the shop. you made soup with wild mushrooms and sweet potato and lentils. with
fresh ginger and coriander seeds and cumin seeds, and the stem end of a chili red chili. it and you had pumper

P had wine. you cooked in the tent away from the midges. they said the Administrator of the Islands

roots. you looked
quickly but you didn't find any more mush-

rooms - or some Lactarius tabidus [?] but you d don't have a book, and a brown birch boletus. you still had a few handfuls of chanterelle[] from yesterday. it's a mix of difficulties: being you are absorbed in the activities of ba meeting basic needs, dealing with the rain and the midges – your days pass in those activities. within these days there are sometimes small openings. last night you hardly slept. all your projects fell apart uselessly: hopelessly incomplete and ill conceived: any support you were supposed to provide you failed to provide. some new people have ar arrived on the

island and set up tents near you ̬ by the sea loch.
on the wet grass the meadows
tomorrow morning when they get up, you will be gone
in the morning you will pack up quickly and take you[] stuff to the new jetty. the b ferry will come in and lower its steel x ramp, half submerged in sea water w onto the slipway. you think of the slipway in Dar es Salaam. a man came and set up camp today who looked and sounded like he was from Kenya. you wondered if he spoke Swahili but there was no chance to ask him.
[he must have been in the tent about a dozen metres across the thick wet grass, back from the sea perhaps fast asleep]

on the way to the Riverside Museum you pass a buddleia covered

... you're standing in the hall of the Riverside Museum under the long folded roof by Zaha Hadid. a procession of model boats passes overhead on a conveyor.a model of the Queen Mary is displayed with 3 wooden mallet planes used by Stuart Ealton in its construction, along with 8 rivets of diminishing size from left to right. These include 3 different typ[e]s of head and one countersunk type. A fragment of carpet with floral design in blue and mauve is shown on a small plexiglass

and aluminium stand. Also included in the Queen Mary, this fragment was made in the building where you are staying now.

you're sheltering under a tree. you're on the way home from the allotment with a basket of beets. a rainstorm opened over you. in the distance the sky is blue. you came under this beech tree. [indistinct] it was bone dry. few minutes now the drops are coming through wetting the paper and the ink is running.
